Start Date: 19/4/2010
End Date: 28/5/2010
Relevant topics: Crime and community safety
Project objectives:
The consultation will seek to gain public opinion on the making of an Alcohol Controlled Zone in the Castle Estate, Bolsover. The aim is to help in the reduction of alcohol related crime and disorder.
Reason for consultation:
Public Consultation is a statutory requirement. It is not necessary that the public actively support a proposal however there must be evidence that an ACZ is necessary and a negative response from the public may indicate that one is not required. That is not to say that if the public object to an ACZ that an order could not be made, however we would need to look at the other factors justifying an order. Derbyshire Police have indicated their support for the making of an Order and have provided statistical information in relation to the number of incidences they have been called to in the area.
