paper consultation   Green Space Strategy Survey- household and providers - a paper consultation

Description:

Parks and green open spaces provide multiple benefits to the communities they serve. Accordingly, there has been an increased awareness at government level of the importance of open space and this has been reflected in recent national planning policy guidance.

The Council has already audited all the existing green space within the District and commissioned a Green Infrastructure Study (2008). What is still required is a Green Space Strategy which will provide a vision and a detailed framework for the future provision of green space within Bolsover and which will inform polices in the emerging Local Development Framework.

The Local Development Framework policies derived from the Green Space Strategy will be subject to extensive public consultation.  These will make the associated policies in the Core Strategy far less susceptible to challenge.

The mail survey does not required to be publicised, it is a random sample survey of 3000 households in the District. A separate survey will also be sent to providers of green space within the District and they will be invited to attend one of four meetings/ workshops. These will provide quantitative data which will be used to inform the Green Space Strategy.
