Description: BT is looking at removing hundreds of public phone boxes across the country, 23 of these are located within North East Derbyshire. A full list of the payphones that are at risk is included below, and you can use the electronic form at the foot of this page to tell us your views on this plan or object to the removal of a payphone near you. Guidance on the removal process can be downloaded and printed off from the OfCom website. The consultation will end on the 31st August 2008.

Project objectives: Some phone boxes are expensive to run and very rarely used. When removing the last phone box from a particular location, BT and KCOM must consult with the district council or unitary authority or equivalent local body. The local bodies will usually consult locally before making its decision and can veto the proposal.

Reason for consultation: We want to give all of our residents the opportunity to submit an opinion or reporesentation on BT's planned removal of phoneboxes. This conusltation gives us the opportunity to do this on behalf of local people.
