Overview

Public Spaces Protection Order Consultation

Bolsover District Council is reviewing the need for a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in Langwith and Whaley Thorns.

We are consulting all community representatives and interested parties.

Why we are Consulting

A PSPO is a provision, created by the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, which is intended to deal with persistent and unreasonable conduct by individuals in a public place which is detrimental to the local community’s quality of life. The aim is to stop individuals or groups committing anti-social behaviour in public spaces. They are designed to ensure the law-abiding majority can use and enjoy public spaces, safe from anti-social behaviour. Enforcement can be undertaken by council officers, police officers and PCSOs.
